Obituary

Jack Wendel Godebu, age 76, died at West Valley Hospital in Goodyear, Arizona, on Monday, July 20, 2015.

He was born May 26, 1939, in Stromstad, Sweden, to Gully and Vendel Godebu. After serving in the Swedish Army and completing college, Jack moved to the United States. He spent 2 years in New York, where he began his career working for Scandinavian Airlines. He was transferred to Seattle, Washington, and then, eventually, moved to Los Angeles, California, where he worked until he retired in 1994. In 1995, he moved to Pebble Creek in Goodyear, Arizona, where he could indulge in his passion for golf.

Jack will be especially remembered for his caring and the happiness that he brought to his friends and family. He was a special person to so many people.

He is survived by his wife, Lena Godebu; his children, Michael Godebu, Niclas Godebu, Peter Pistone, and Tami Bledsoe; and his 9 grandchildren: Kara, Katja, Jake, Ashley, Billy, Lauren, Christian, Braden and Dillon.

A Celebration of Life for Jack is ‘To Be Announced’ in order to accommodate friends and family.
