Obituary

Glenda Burson died January 5th, 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born December 24, 1937, in Clarendon, Texas to Glen and Ruth Riley. She married James W. Burson on December 27^th, 1952.

She worked for the US Postal Service and later for the Flagstaff Public Schools as Principals Secretary at Leupp Elementary School and later as the Book Store Manager at Coconino High School. Her true passion was ministering to her community through mission work and church plants. Glenda was an amazing woman of faith who loved and served her family.

Glenda is survived by her daughters, Treva Griffin (Don, preceded in death) and Patricia Rosenthal (Stephen); grandchildren Stacy Howard (Mike), James Griffin (Amanda), Timothy Stinson (NayefHowar), Christopher Stinson, Timothy Rosenthal and Christopher Rosenthal; seven 7 great-grandchildren; and brothers, John Riley (Sheila) and Bill Riley (Sandy). She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Ruth Riley; her husband, James W. Burson; her son, James G. Burson; and son-in-law Don D. Griffin.

A viewing will take place at 10:00 am with a funeral service at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 10^th, 2018 at the First Southern Baptist Church of Avondale, located at 1001 N. Central Ave. Avondale, Arizona 85323. Donations can be made to Arizona Baptist Children’s Services.
