Obituary

CMSGT James H. Whorl, 80, of Buckeye passed away November 20, 2011 in Goodyear.  He was born March 29, 1931 in York, PA to Oscar and Anna Whorl.  He moved to Arizona in 1976.

Jim was a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, personnel management, as well as retired as personnel director for the State of Arizona.  He worked for Maricopa County, ADOT, DES and the Department of Administration.  He was a volunteer with the Red Cross at Luke Air Force Base Hospital.  He was a member of the Roadrunners.  Jim married Charlotte Jones in Norman, OK on July 4^th, 1951.   Until this season, Jim was an avid Suns fan.

Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte Whorl.  He is also survived by his Daughter Sandra and Wayne Garland, Bryson City, North Carolina, sons Chris and Brian; Son Scott and Sherry Whorl, Moreno Valley, California, son David and Nicole Whorl along with great-grandsons Jakob, Justin, Jayden, and Jonah, and daughters Christy and Lisa; Daughter Karen and Jerry Eidenmiller, Bellevue, Nebraska, daughter Ashley, daughter Marissa and Chris Muth, son Travis and great-grandson Wesley; Son Kevin and Elissa Whorl, Foster City, California, sons Connor and Aaron and daughter Lauren; and Daughter Sally and Bryan Cook, Goodyear, Arizona, son James and Stephanie Cook and great grandson Tyler, son Jason and daughter Nicole.  He is also survived by his brothers Glenn and Jack from Pennsylvania, many other relatives and friends.

Visitation is at 10:00am Friday, November 25, 2011 at Thompson’s Valley West Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, AZ 85338.  The service will go in procession to Holy Cross Cemetery, where a full military honor guard will pay tribute and the service will take place.
